The atmosphere of top-level tennis continues in Chișinău. Following the opening of the National Tennis Centre and the successful staging of the ATP Challenger 100 Moldova Open, the capital of the Republic of Moldova is preparing to host another major international competition.

From June 10 to 13, the National Tennis Centre will host the matches of the Davis Cup Europe Group III competition. Eight national teams will take part: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ireland, Kosovo, Latvia, Moldova, Montenegro and North Macedonia.

The competition will be played in a format of two groups of four teams each. Each tie will consist of two singles matches and one doubles match. At the conclusion of the tournament, the top three teams will earn promotion to Europe Group II for the 2027 season.

Naturally, the attention of Moldovan tennis fans will be focused on the national team, which will compete on home courts with the following lineup:

Radu Albot
Ilia Snițari
Mathis Braun
Andrei Gorban

The team captain is Andrei Ciumac.

The tournament will be played on four match courts and two practice courts of the National Tennis Centre. All matches will feature live scoring and will be streamed online. The competition will be officiated by international officials and supported by a specially trained team of ball kids.

Hosting the Davis Cup is further confirmation that the Republic of Moldova is strengthening its presence on the international tennis map. The new National Tennis Centre has already hosted the ATP Challenger 100 Moldova Open and will now become the venue for one of the most prestigious team competitions in world tennis.

The Davis Cup is the oldest and one of the most prestigious team events in men’s tennis. Hosting a tournament of this level reflects the confidence placed by the International Tennis Federation in the National Tennis Federation of Moldova and in the country’s new sports complex.

We invite all sports fans to come and support the Moldovan national team in its quest for promotion.

Admission to all matches is free of charge.
