From September 21 to 27, the Campionatul took place on the clay courts of the National Tennis Center. Deschis al Mun . Chișinău 2026 is a national category II tournament. The competition featured tennis players of all ages, from the youngest Tennis 10 players to adult athletes. Winners were determined in singles and doubles.
The Chisinau Open Championship proved to be one of the most action-packed tennis weeks of the autumn. Competitions were held in the U12, U14, U16, U18, and Senior categories, and from September 25th to 27th, the youngest participants – the Tennis 10 players – took to the courts . The tournament was organized by the National Tennis Federation of the Republic of Moldova in collaboration with the General Directorate of Education, Youth, and Sports of the Chisinau Municipality (DGETS).
The U12 competition was one of the largest. The boys’ title went to Teodor Krayniy . He faced Robert Surlar in the final and won 6-3, 6-4 . In the semifinals, Krayniy defeated Mykhailo Poparcha 6-4, 6-4, while Surlary defeated Daniil Zavorotko 6-0, 6-2.
Amelia won the U12 girls’ competition. Sheremet . In the final, she beat Emilia Bolya – 6:1, 6:3 . Third place went to Alexandra Roman, who won the match for bronze against Antonia Kuzmina – 7:5, 2:6, [10:3]. Amelia Sheremet has already achieved notable results in national competitions: in June, she became the Moldovan champion in the U12 category.
Andriy Bohdan emerged victorious in the U14 boys’ category . He defeated Alexander Saban in the final match, 6-1, 6-2 . The semifinal against Daniil Oglinda proved particularly challenging for the future champion : after losing the second set, Bohdan regained the initiative and won, 6-2, 0-6, 6-1. Oglinda finished third .
Andreea Nour won the U14 girls’ tournament . In the final, she prevented Laura Garstea from gaining ground and won 6-0, 6-2 . In the semifinals, Nour defeated Alexandra Sadchenko 6-2, 6-4. This success continued a successful season for Andreea: she previously won the 2026 Moldovan Championship in her age category.
Sofia Kanyushin took first place in the U16 girls’ category . In the final match, she defeated S. Stratulat 6 :1, 6:2 . Polina Kiriak placed third .
In some older age categories, the competition was held in a round-robin format, so there was no separate final match. Among the U16 boys, Sandu Ganga showed the best result, with Ilia Sanalaci taking second place . In the U18 boys’ competition, David Popushoi won , with Nikita Marchenko finishing second. Among the U18 girls’ competition, Irina Zaichenko took first place , with Daria Bugaenko taking second.
Alexandru Barbuta won the men’s Seniori tournament . In the final, he faced the top seed, Daniel Calugar . The first set went to a tiebreak, after which Barbutsa secured the lead in the second set – 7:6(1), 6:4 . Sergey Martynov took third place.
The championship program also included the U12 doubles competition. Among the boys, Mikhail Poparcha and Teodor Krayniy won the title , defeating Robert Surlari and Lucas Ciobanu in the final , 6:1, 6:2 . Among the girls, Viktoria Yanyuk and Irina Stratulat won the final, defeating Eva Diakona and Amelia. Sheremet with a score of 6:2, 6:3 .
A special part of the tennis week was the Campionatul Deschis al Mun . Chișinău 2026 – Tennis 10. From September 25th to 27th, the youngest participants took to the courts of the National Tennis Center. Competitions were held in the Red I, Red II, Orange , and Green categories , with courts, balls, and scoring systems adapted for children’s ages.
In the Red I category, Mark Bolgar won , beating B. Palladi in the decisive match 10:8 . In Red II, I. Sova took first place , defeating Z. Gyrba in the final . 10:4 .
In the Orange category, Daniel was the strongest Teterea , who beat D. Balaban in the final – 4:1, 4:1 .
In the Green boys’ tournament, Philipp Berezhnoy won the final against M.Nauk 4-1 , 4-5(5), 4-0 . Among the girls, Alexandra Solomatina took first place , defeating Alexandra Bivol in the final 4-1 , 4-0 .
The Chisinau Municipal Open Championship brought together several generations of players on the courts of the National Tennis Center. For Tennis 10 participants, such competitions are one of their first experiences with a real tournament atmosphere, while for senior tennis players, it’s an opportunity to test their skills against the strongest opponents their age. The tournament is also part of a system of competitions, the results of which are used to select players for national teams.
The National Tennis Federation of the Republic of Moldova thanks everyone who helped to hold the competition at a high organizational level, and expresses special gratitude to the tournament partners – the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sports of the Chisinau Municipality (DGETS), Felicia Optic Center, OM water, and the National Tennis Center.
